For parents

Your child has probably asked you about Loop. Here is what it is, what it costs, what it stores, and how to stop it — in that order, without a sales pitch.

What is it?

A tracking app for students. It keeps their homework, grades and money in one place — grades and due dates can fill in from the school's Canvas — and shows a streak for logging something each day. Training, meals and weight are optional extras, off unless switched on. That streak is the point: it is built to make a daily habit stick.

It is not a social network. There is no feed, no messaging, no public profiles, and no way to search for or discover another person.

There is one exception, and it only happens if your child starts it. They can share a streak with one friend by sending them a link. If that friend accepts, the two of them see each other's first name and whether the other logged something that day — nothing else. No grades, no weight, no money, no messages. Either of them can end it in one tap, and it cannot begin unless your child sends a link or accepts one — a friend cannot start it from their side alone.

What does it cost?

The free version is genuinely complete and permanent — every tracking feature, no card, no countdown. Most people never need to pay.

Paid plans add AI features: Loop Plus at $6.99 a month reads screenshots so they type less, and Pro at $12.99 reads what they logged and tells them what they missed.

The plan price is the maximum an account can ever be charged. No add-ons, no credit top-ups, no in-app purchases. There is no way for your child to run up a bill.

What does it store, and who can see it?

Whatever they choose to log, plus their first name and age. Each account's data is locked to that account by the database itself, not by our promise — other users cannot reach it, and neither can we browse it.

We do not sell data, advertise against it, or use it to train AI models. The AI features send the relevant part of what was logged to Anthropic at the moment they are used, and nothing is sent in the background. Every company involved is named in the Privacy Policy.

Is it safe for my child?

Loop is for 13s and over, and under-18s need your permission — which is why you are reading this.

Food and weight tracking are off by default. If they are switched on, two things are deliberately built in: it never suggests supplements to anyone under 18, and it will not compute calorie targets at all unless height, weight and age are entered — it shows less rather than guessing. Its written guidance says plainly that it is not a doctor and asks anyone under 18, still growing, or with any history of disordered eating to talk to one before changing how they eat.

The food and weight features stay off unless your child turns them on in Settings, and can be switched off again there at any time; off, they disappear from the app entirely.

How do I stop it or get my money back?

Cancel in two clicks from the account menu. Access runs to the end of the period you paid for, and canceling never deletes anything.

If you did not authorize a charge, we refund it — always, with no time limit and no questions. Email looposapp.help@gmail.com. A monthly plan is refundable any time; a yearly one gives back the months that were not used.

You can also ask us to delete the account and everything in it, and we will.

Who runs this?

One person, in Georgia, in the United States, running it through Ad Fontes LLC, a small company formed for Loop. There is no team and no support department, and this page would rather say so plainly than dress it up.

That is a fair thing to be cautious about, so here is what does not depend on trusting a stranger:

  • Your card never reaches us. Payments run entirely through Stripe, who handle the card details and the billing. We never see or store a card number, and you can cancel from Stripe's own portal without asking anyone's permission.
  • Refunds have no time limit. Ask whenever: a monthly plan refunds the month you are in, a yearly one refunds in full inside the first thirty days and gives back the unused months after that. An unauthorized charge is refunded in full, always, with no time limit at all. Those are the only conditions, and the terms say the same thing at more length rather than something different.
  • You can take the data out, whenever. Everything your child logs exports as a file from Settings, and Delete account on that same screen removes it for good, canceling any subscription on the way out. Nothing is held hostage to keep you subscribed.
  • If this stops being maintained, the free tier keeps working, your card stops being charged, and the export above still works. A one-person project should tell you its failure mode up front.

Email goes to a person and is answered within a couple of days: looposapp.help@gmail.com. The full Terms and Privacy Policy are written to be read rather than to be survived.
