Health privacy

Last updated 16 October 2026

Loop only saves health data after you say yes, and only lets AI read it after a second, separate yes. We never sell it, never use it for ads, and never share it with anyone to market to you. Turn either off any time in Settings, under Health.

1. What health data we collect, and why

  • Weight you log, to show your trend against your plan.
  • Meals and nutrition (what you ate, calories, protein, carbs, fat, caffeine), to show your day against your targets.
  • Workouts (exercises, sets, weights, reps), to track progress.
  • Sleep you log, and body habits you tick off.
  • Recovery data if you connect WHOOP or Apple Health: sleep, heart rate, heart rate variability, recovery, strain, workouts and similar daily figures.
  • Body facts from setup: height, starting weight, biological sex, training style and body goal, to work out targets that fit your age and size.
  • Things Loop works out from these, like your calorie target, weight trend and recovery patterns.

We use it to run your Body tab, your morning summary and, only if you allow it, the AI features. Not for ads, and not to decide anything about you.

2. Where it comes from

  • You, when you type, tick, photograph a meal or tell Max something.
  • Apple Health, through the Health Auto Export app, if you set it up. Once data leaves Apple Health, Apple's own privacy protections no longer cover it; this policy does.
  • WHOOP, if you connect your account.

3. What is shared

Nothing, unless you turn on “Let AI read my health data”. With that on, the health data above can be sent to the AI when you use Max, the Body brief, Ask your life, weekly insights or a meal estimate. Meal descriptions are also looked up in a food database. Without it, AI features work on your school and money data only.

4. Who receives it

Loop has no affiliates. These companies handle health data for us, each only to provide Loop to you:

  • Supabase stores your account and everything you log.
  • Vercel runs the app, so your data passes through its servers.
  • Anthropic, the AI company behind Max, receives health data only with the AI switch on, only to write the answer you asked for, and does not train on it.
  • Nutritionix receives what you typed about a meal, with the AI switch on, to look up its nutrition.
  • Fish Audio turns Max's replies into speech, so it receives what Max says out loud, which can mention your health data when the AI switch is on.
  • WHOOP, if you connect it, sends us your data; we send it nothing about you beyond the connection itself.

Full contact details for each are in the privacy policy.

5. Your rights, and how to use them

  • See it. Export everything from Settings, or email looposapp.help@gmail.com to ask what we hold and who has received it.
  • Stop it. Settings, under Health: “Track my health” off stops Loop saving anything new, including from WHOOP and Apple Health; “Let AI read my health data” off stops it reaching the AI. Both take effect straight away.
  • Disconnect WHOOP. “Disconnect WHOOP” on the Body tab ends the connection and deletes the WHOOP data Loop saved, straight away.
  • Delete it. Delete your account in Settings, or email looposapp.help@gmail.com to delete only your health data. We also ask the companies above to delete any copy they hold. It leaves our backups within 30 days.
  • Appeal. If we turn a request down, reply with “Appeal” in the subject and we will answer within 45 days. If you still disagree, you can complain to the Washington Attorney General.

We answer every request within 45 days. A parent can make a request for a child under 18. We never charge for it and never treat you differently for using these rights.

What we ask before collecting

The two questions Loop asks, word for word. They are asked on one screen, each with its own switch that starts off, so you can say yes to one and not the other:

  • Track your health in Loop? Loop will save weight, meals and nutrition, workouts, sleep, body habits, and recovery data from WHOOP or Apple Health if you connect them, plus the height, sex and body goal you give in setup. To show your Body tab: your targets, trends, streaks and morning summary. Stored in your account with our database host. Never sold, never used for ads, never shared with anyone else. Turn it off any time in Settings, under Health.
  • Let Max read your health data? Max, the Body brief, Ask your life, weekly insights and meal estimates would read your health data. So they can answer questions about your food, training, sleep and recovery. Sent to Anthropic, the AI company whose model powers Max, only to write each answer; Anthropic does not train on it. Meal descriptions are also looked up in Nutritionix, a food database. Everything else keeps working if you say no. Change it any time in Settings, under Health.
